Kia Carens Clavis Launched: Price, Features, and What’s New
Kia has launched the Carens Clavis in India, priced between ?11.50 lakh and ?21.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings opened shortly after the official reveal on May 8, with a token amount of ?25,000. The Carens Clavis will be offered alongside the standard Carens, with the "Clavis" badge marking a more premium and feature-rich variant.

Exterior Highlights

The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis is essentially a facelifted version of the Carens, built on the same K2 platform. The front gets updated triple-pod LED headlights inspired by the Kia EV5, connected by a sleek new light bar that links the inverted L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs). A faux-metal skid plate adds a rugged touch.

From the side, the silhouette remains similar to the original Carens but with added SUV-inspired styling thanks to plastic cladding around the doors and wheel arches. The Clavis rides on larger 17-inch alloy wheels with a fresh design, and the door handles now come without chrome finish, giving a cleaner look. At the rear, sharper LED tail-lights are connected by a new light bar, complemented by a spoiler-mounted stop lamp and a redesigned bumper with faux-metal detailing.
Interior Features

Inside, the Carens Clavis offers both 6-seater (with captain seats in the second row) and 7-seater layouts. The cabin sports a stylish blue-and-beige theme with twin 12.3-inch screens—one for the infotainment system and one for the driver’s instrument cluster. Interestingly, while the top HTX trims get this larger touchscreen, they lack wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are available on the lower trims with an 8-inch unit.

The center console features a touch-sensitive panel to control media and climate settings. Comfort-wise, front seats are ventilated, with the driver’s seat offering electric adjustment. Other highlights include a wireless charger, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, an air purifier, panoramic sunroof, multiple drive modes (eco, normal, sport), paddle shifters on the DCT model, AC vents and USB ports for second and third rows, and a “Boss mode” for the co-driver’s seat — similar to what you get in the Hyundai Alcazar. The second row’s left seat also supports a convenient one-touch tumble-and-fold function.
Safety and Driver Assistance
The Carens Clavis steps up safety with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which was missing in the standard Carens. The safety suite includes features like blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera system. The vehicle also comes equipped with six airbags, ABS, hill-start assist, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and disc brakes on all four wheels.
