2025 Audi Q3 Sportback Revealed – Coupe SUV with 118km EV Range
Audi has expanded its compact SUV lineup with the new Q3 Sportback, a sportier alternative to the regular Q3 that was unveiled earlier this year. While both cars share the same underpinnings, the Sportback gets a coupe-like roofline and a few design tweaks that make it stand out.
A Sportier Stance
The most noticeable change is the 29mm lower roofline, which lends the SUV a more athletic, road-hugging profile. The best part? Despite the coupe-like shape, Audi hasn’t compromised on everyday practicality – the boot still offers a generous 488 litres of space, making it just as usable as the regular Q3.
Up front, the Q3 Sportback wears split LED Matrix headlights, a bold blacked-out grille, and a sculpted bonnet. From the side, the raked roof and reshaped window line give it a clear identity, while the rear gets connected LED tail-lamps with a light bar. In fact, from certain angles, it almost resembles larger Audi models such as the Q5 or even the A6 Avant.
Modern Cabin with Audi’s Latest Tech
Step inside and you’ll find a cabin that feels premium yet familiar. Just like the standard Q3, the Sportback is fitted with a curved dual-display setup—a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen paired with a 11.9-inch digital driver’s display.
Audi has also introduced an innovative steering wheel control unit, which replaces the usual stalks and even acts as the drive selector. This move frees up more space on the centre console, where you now get a wireless phone charger and extra cupholders.
While the dashboard looks clean, it does mean you’ll have to control the HVAC functions via the touchscreen—something drivers might take time to get used to.
Engine Choices and the Plug-in Hybrid
Under the hood, the Q3 Sportback sticks with the same set of engines offered on the regular Q3:
-
1.5L Turbo-Petrol (150hp, 250Nm)
-
2.0L Turbo-Petrol with two outputs:
-
204hp, 350Nm (AWD)
-
265hp, 400Nm (AWD)
-
-
2.0L Diesel (150hp, 360Nm, FWD)
-
Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) – 1.5L petrol + electric motor
-
Combined output: 272hp, 400Nm
-
25.7kWh battery with up to 118km EV-only range (WLTP)
-
The PHEV stands out with its long electric range, making it an attractive option for buyers who want an Audi badge along with greener credentials.
