New Car Launches in India – May 2025: Full List of Upcoming Models

Following a quieter April, the Indian car environment is ready to kick into high gear with a very exciting May full of major car debuts and launches. From significant upgrades to top-selling cars to fresh, eagerly awaited automobiles, there is much to anticipate. Below are the prime launches taking place in May:

2025 Kia Carens
Expected Launch: May 8, 2025
Expected Price: Rs.11 lakh onwards (Launch in June)

The 2025 Kia Carens will receive a comprehensive update this May, along with a new exterior and interior design. The new Carens will feature intriguing specifications such as bigger 12.3-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated second-row seats (in the six-seater model), and Level 2 ADAS. The powertrain will likely remain the same, with options available such as the 1.5-litre diesel, petrol, and turbo-petrol engines. The Carens will also remain on sale alongside the refreshed model. Pricing details are expected to be announced in June.

2025 Tata Altroz Facelift
Expected Launch: May 21, 2025
Expected Price: Rs.6.75 lakh onwards

Tata is ready to release the first-ever facelift of the Altroz in May. The refresh will introduce subtle changes to the outside, such as new lighting, reworked bumpers, and fresh alloys. On the inside, there will be minor enhancements such as a new steering design and color schemes. The Altroz will retain a broad lineup of engine choices, including petrol, turbo-petrol, diesel, and CNG.

2025 Volkswagen Golf GTI
Expected Launch: May (Exact date TBA)
Expected Price: Rs.52 lakh

Volkswagen is launching the legendary Golf GTI in India in May. The hot hatch will be powered by a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 PS and 370 Nm of torque, providing an exhilarating driving experience. The Golf GTI will be the second GTI model in India following the Polo GTI and will be a treat for the enthusiasts.

MG Cyberster
